- Newspaper: Killer wolves from the zoo still at large. The police and hunters have not yet been able to catch the two wolves that escaped from the Munich Zoological Garden in Thalkirchen. The detective in charge of the case, Kriminalkomissar Leber of the Prinzregentenplatz police station, said the police are implementing a new plan, including the help of experienced trackers from overseas. So far, the wolves appear to be confined to the countryside, but police have yet to find out why the attacks happened so far apart. The wolves don't seem to have settled into a permanent camp yet. There has been much speculation regarding the incompetence of the police. The zoo officials have by now rejected any comment…
- Gabriel writes letter to Grace and apparently sends it express.
- Grace received Gabriel's letter (on the same day!) and travels to Germany immediately. Grace arrives in Germany later that night. Gerde gives her permission to stay at the castle that night.
- March 18
- March 19
- Karl Grossberg is murdered that night around 1:15 a.m.
- Newspaper: It looks like there's been another wolf killing. And this one occurred last night in downtown Munich! Killer wolves strike again in downtown! The latest and most gruesome incident to date has terrified the population and the authorities are powerless to look on. This morning around 1 a.m., the killer wolves claimed their sixth victim, right in the middle of the city center. The murderous beasts struck again in a side street off Dienerstrasse, not far from Marienplatz and the town hall. The body was discovered on Althofstrasse around 1:15 a.m. when the cobblestones in the small courtyard were still covered in blood.

Notes[]
- The game appears to take place either in March 1994 or sometime after February 1995. In game materials are not consistent. Most references relate to 1994, and make most sense in context of the story for example Klingmann's hunting license is only valid in 1994 to early 1995. It would already been expired if GK2 takes place in 1995. Dorn's ledgers only goes up to 1-6-94.
- Gabriel has been in Germany for almost a year.[45][46] The Untitled Blake Backlash Manuscript mirrors the Gabriel's history. So its been almost/nearly a year since GK1 (i.e. 1993-1994). Note: The original game took place between June 18-28 (GK2 mentions Wolfgang died on June 25). A year later as per manual would have placed GK2 in June 1994. The dates that place the game in March 94 would place the game under a year (9 months). The dates from Pause short story and Harold’s letter puts the story some time during or after February 1995. Which is roughly a 18 months later. It It is unlikely that the story and characters investigation takes place over a one year period. The above timeline focuses on the 1994 dates so its been around 9 months since GK3 in this timeline.
- 1994 date likely comes from relation to GK1 1993 date, while 1995 date might link game to real-world development date (GK1 was released in 1993 and set in 1993, GK2 was released in 1995).
- Chapter 1 begins late at night two days after the murder, and few days before bulk of Chapter 1. Once he wakes up at Huber farm it is March 17 in morning. Gabriel sends a letter back to states. One issue is that the scene the night with the villagers and his waking up at farm looks like it’s the next day. While Lebers info about when Toni was killed (in relation to when Werner says she was killed pushed things a few days before the 17th. It’s unclear what he was doing between March 15 and March 16 assuming he moved into the farm house 16th. The trip couldn’t haven taken that long? Did he spend time in village discussing the murder with family? Did they spend a day at farmhouse arranging for their trip to stay with relatives?
- Grace received the letter apparently the same day (despite normally taking a few days for mail to reach states from europe). She catches a flight immediately, had to take her half a day to travel to Germany. But she arrived there around night on the 17th. Her letter she sends to Gabriel the next morning states that it is the 18th.
- The newspapers lists the dates as March 17 and March 19, however it also lists them as being monday and tuesday. It's not clear if the newspapers are meant to be a day apart, or two days apart. This would effect what days each chapter is on. Chapter 1 is March 17 (monday), Chapter 2 is March 18 (Tuesday?). Chapter 3 is likely one or two days after Chapter 1 (March 19 or Tuesday, March 18?), chapter 4 is supposed to be the next day after Chapter 2 (but also the day before chapter 6, she received the info on Black Wolf the day before). Chapter 5 is the day after Chapter 3 (March 20 or Wednesday, March 19?), Chapter 6 is supposed to be the day after Chapter 4 & 5 (March 21 or Thursday, March 20?), and 2 months later.
- This issue becomes even more confusing as Meryl Smith, asks in Chapter 2 (the 18th per Grace's letter) to meet her 'tomorrow' (presumably chapter 4, on the 19th)[47], while Grace receives information about the Black Wolf in Chapter 4, but its supposed to be the day before chapter 6. Both her talking to Smiths and receiving the information about the Black Wolf both occur in Chapter 4 (presumably on the same day). It all comes down to if Chapter 3 is 1 or 2 days after Chapter 1 (there isn't any specific comments from Gabriel or any characters mentioning how many days it had passed since Chapter 1 allowing for some wiggle room). Also it would take at least one day for mail to be delivered from Rittersberg to Munich (suggesting that 1 day had to pass between chapter 2 and chapter 3). It still leaves the issue with what say she actually talked to Meryll though.
- Note: Newspaper; Monday. March 17, 1994 was actually a Thursday.
- Note: Newspaper; Tuesday. March 19, 1994 was actually a Saturday.
- The operas is set "Two Months Later". Chapter six jumps ahead two months later midway though this would make it around May 1994 (going by the 1994 dates in chapter 1-3).
- The escape of the wolves is said to have occurred 32 days (about month) or about two months before GK2.
- He has spent the last year at his family castle in Germany, writing a fictionalized account of his experiences with the supernatural.
- Grace Nakimura has spent the last year running Gabriel's New Orleans bookstore. This hasn't been very exciting work for Grace, an experienced researcher whose work a year ago was instrumental in helping Gabriel solve the voodoo murders.
- Pause is a tie in to GK2 story wise set between GK1 and GK2. It introduces a few of references to time too: January, 1995… February, 1995… Six months ago he had come to Germany, supposedly to pursue this Schattenjäger business and start a new book. …a 300- year malevolent spirit that wanted his innards on a platter. Gabriel has the family talisman and Wolfgang's old library full of casebooks of Schattenjägers past (the oldest one is dated 1122, but it implies the tradition was ancient even then).
- Jane Jensen states it’s 1995 in the hintbook. Can one apply for a job as a Schattenjäger? Not according to Ritter family tradition, but it is 1995, and there is only one Ritter left. So the universe may make an exception in her case.
- First Ledger is in month, day, year format: 12-1-88, 5-3-89, 1-6-90, 2-8-90, 5-20-90, 7-5-90, 10-5-90, 7-8-91, 12-7-91, 1-4-92, 1-10-92, 2-1-92, 2-4-92, 4-1-92, 8-1-92, 1-9-93, 6-7-93, 7-5-93, 10-1-93, 1-6-94
- The second ledger appears to be in day, month, year order, its last date shows June 2, 1995. This would pretty off compared to other dates in the game, being a date set long after the games main setting (March). On the other hand 20-4-93 could be poorly written 10-4-93 (which means October 4, 93, which would mean that 2-6-95 is actually February 6, 95). 1-6-93, 5-10-93, 3-12-93, 20-4-93, 7-6-94, 10-6-94, 5-9-94, 2-6-95:
- Between 1960 and 1969, there were only one to two cases each year in the Bavarian National forest area. Between 1970 and 1990, there were ten to twelve cases each year. In 1991, it went up to seventeen, then went back to twelve in '92 and '93. The "Schwabisch-Frankischer Wald" figures are similar.
- Bavaria had been involved in a Hundred Years War, people were tired of fighting. Prussia's push to unite the United German States made some amount of sense, but still Ludwig must have had other options. At the very least, he should have negotiated better terms.
- Info in another GK2 related article: A German man named Stubbe Peter was tried and executed in 1590 for murder, rape, incest, and cannibalism, all activities he indulged in while believing himself to be a wolf. Later, in 1603, a 13-year-old French boy named Jean Grenier claimed to become a werewolf by putting on a wolf-skin given to him by the devil. He confessed to having eaten a baby and various parts of young children, and to having bitten many young girls. He was sentenced to life in a monastery.
- February 1995, Harold’s letter (most likely should have been February 1994, Harold made a typo?).[48]
- Wolfgang Ritter’s death in GK1 he actually died June 26, rather than June 25.
- If Wolfgang was born May 10, 1923 the he would have been only 2 in 1925 (GK1 Ritter Photo) which would be an impossibility as he would be only a child and could not be mistaken for a man as narrator claims he is in photo. However, GK1 also gave an alternate date for photo claiming it was fifty years old give or take making the photo have been taken about 1943 (making Wolfgang around age 20). And meaning that Heinz came to America about 1945 after the war. The letter would have been written around 1950s give or take.

Besides, if it goes anything like last time, you're going to need my help. I've been doing the research Gerde said you wanted. Enclosed is a book you might find useful. It looks a little outdated, but then I've never dealt with werewolves before, so it's hard to be sure. There's also some werewolf history right here in town. I found some clues pointing to a werewolf called 'the Black Wolf.' He's cropped up in a couple of places, including here in Rittersberg in 1750 and in association with Ludwig II, a Bavarian king that died in 1886. It's all ancient history, I know, but something tells me it is relevant. I'm not sure where to go from here, except to look into Ladwig II.
