Magentia is a Voodoo priestess who helps those who seek guidance from her, and sells charms and magic potions.

Background[]
She came to New Orleans from Kansas. She begun studying Voodoo in around 1970s and was trained by Queen Tabitha. When she was an apprentice, she used to go to St. John's Eve ceremony out in the wild. Her spirit guide was a snake priestess from ancient Egypt who identified itself as "Grimwald".
Her residence looks like a cross between a Voodoo temple and a fortune-teller's parlor (by way of Haight Street). She has been old friends with Dr. John. She bought a python from a traveling reptile show as the snake was mistreated. She named it Grimwald after her spirit guide.
When Gabriel Knight visits her, she tells him about the Voodoo hounfour, tell him about Voodoo Masks, helps him translate the Voodoo code written on the tomb of Widow Paris, and if Gabe asks, she performs a dance with the snake. That moment Gabe can steal Grimwald's skin and determine that it has no relation to the scale found at the crime site at Lake Pontchartrain.
On Day 2, Gabriel learns about Magentia from Doctor John who refers him to her to learn more about local Voodoo practices. Gabriel is able to go visit her, and ask her about various topics, and learns a new topics in the process including information about masks. This allows him to question Willy at the Dixie Land Drug Store about the alligator mask Willy Jr..
Days 2-4, she is open on any of these days (assuming he has learned about her from Dr. John). He can have the interview with her at any time between those days.
On Day 5 her house is inaccessible, having left for a Channeling seminar until August 1.
Character and traits[]
Magentia Moonbeam is a modern-day Voodooienne. She tells fortunes, prepares potions, and dispenses physic advice to her loyal clientele. She even has a snake, in tradition of Marie Laveau, which she handles with fearless grace. She seems to know all there is to know about the kind of Voodoo that's practiced in New Orleans. If she occasionally averts her eyes when answering a question, well, perhaps there are some things even a Seer would rather not see.[1]
